🤷 Why Granola
Granola takes notes for you during calls. No bot joins your meeting. You stay in the conversation.
When the call ends, you get clean notes with the decisions and next steps pulled out.
In A2A, those notes are raw material. Transcripts plus AI is one of the biggest unlocks in this program. They are real examples of your work, and you'll hand them to AI starting in Week 1.
🛠️ Set it up (about 5 minutes)
- Download Granola using the link at the top of this page. Sign up on your computer with your business email. The free plan is all you need. It gives you access to about your last 30 days of notes. If you upgrade later, our link gives you your first paid month free.
- Sign in with the Google or Microsoft account that holds your work calendar.
- Allow microphone and system audio when Granola asks.
- Go to Settings → Preferences → Data & sharing and set Default link sharing to Private.
Works on Mac (macOS 14 or later) and Windows. There's also an iPhone app for calls and conversations away from your desk. Stuck? Use the official setup guide.
🎯 Try it: a 2-minute practice note
- Click New Note and name it A2A Practice.
- Talk for two minutes about a task you do every week. Say the goal, one decision, and one next step with an owner and a date. Keep it non-sensitive.
- Stop transcription. Let Granola write your notes.
- Ask the note's chat:
List the decisions, next steps, owners and deadlines from this note. Mark anything that was not actually said. - Compare the answer with the transcript. Fix any names or dates it got wrong.
- Hand it to AI. Copy your notes into Claude and ask: "Turn these notes into a short follow-up message with the next steps." This is the move you'll use all program.
📦 Put it to work before Week 1
In Week 1 you bring three real examples of a task you repeat.
- Leave Granola running all the time. It quietly captures every meeting on your computer (with permission).
- Every capture can be one example: a weekly check-in, a client or sales call, a team huddle, or even you recording yourself explaining a task you do every week.
- By Week 1, you'll have your three examples without recreating anything.
💡 Optional: three moves that make it click
Left early or zoned out? Copy the live transcript mid-meeting, paste it into Claude and ask, "Catch me up in three bullets."
Ask across all your meetings. In Granola's chat, try "What did [name] and I decide last week?" It searches every meeting and shows you where the answer came from.
Turn a transcript into something useful. Copy the full transcript into Claude with this prompt:
You're an expert meeting summarizer. My [boss / client / team] needs the top five takeaways from the meeting below. Write them at an eighth-grade level so they're easy to understand. Ask me any clarifying questions first.
[paste transcript]That's the same Role, Context, Request, Question structure from Building Great Prompts.
🔧 If audio is missing
- Check microphone and system-audio permissions.
- Make sure Granola uses the same mic and speakers as your meeting app.
- Restart Granola and test again.
- Audio troubleshooting
